Community Choices Inc. operates 62 residential treatment beds for pregnant and parenting women across North Carolina, providing both short-term and long-term levels of care. We have 48 beds in Charlotte and 14 beds in Durham. Each residential program welcomes children up to age 11 and strives to accommodate reunification goals within licensure guidelines.
We provide furnished apartments with necessary supplies to increase residents' capacity for self-sufficiency. Placement into a residential program is offered to consumers based upon need and required level of care. The level of care is determined by the substance abuse assessment. Consumers must meet ASAM III.5 criteria to be eligible for residential treatment. The consumer must be willing to commit to the recommended length of stay and to abide by the residential rules. Failure to attend treatment as outlined in the treatment plan may result in a discharge from the residential placement.
The residential programs are staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Staff interact with consumers throughout the day and night, and rounds are made every few hours.
